ramblings of a beast

Before…

Before, when she was lonely and sitting in her room just staring out the doorway waiting for something amazing to happen, a talking dog would sometimes come into the story. That was before.

Before, when she was lonely and sitting in her room just staring out the window waiting for something amazing to happen, a talking worm would sometimes come into the story. That was before.

Before, when she was lonely and sitting in her room, she wasn’t always just sitting in her room. She would magically go places by entering a cabinet and appearing somewhere else. Seemed like a cool trick. Wasn’t like she had to really work it out. People just had to believe it cause she wrote it. It just happened. But whatever. That was before.

Tonight there was no talking dog. Tonight there was no talking worm. There was no magic cabinet to enter. The doorway was empty, the window shade was drawn down which was probably best because the leaves were all falling off the trees which was making her anxious anyway. (Breathe)

Tonight there was just a girl thinking about a dancing groundhog.

Dancing ground hog. Makes me think of Caddyshack, Kenny Loggins, “I’m Alright.” Ok, that was a dancing gopher, but still cute. Bill Murray was in the Groundhog Day movie, so maybe there’s a connection.

I have to say that was one of my least favorite movies although I used to adore Bill Murray. Get an Xbox Kinect, play the game Adventures and become a “living statue” and you will then understand what on earth I am talking about.
